About the Farm

Our Story

For over 150 years, the Cowan family has been farming in Innisfil. Over several generations, the farm has produced a variety of crops and livestock including pigs, chickens and cattle. 

The farm is currently being operated by the 4th, 5th and 6th generations and primarily focused on sheep and lamb production, as well as growing forages and cash crop soybeans, wheat and corn. The farm is an Ontario Century Farm and was recognized as part of the Ontario 150 celebration.

Flock

Our sheep flock consists of approximately 75 ewes of purebred Southdown and commercial crossbred ewes. We are enrolled in the GenOvis program which allows us to monitor flock performance and select replacements with superior genetic traits. Lambs are sold through traditional auction markets and as breeding stock.
